It’s been awhile since I’ve posted “Faces of Chennai” given my efforts to discovery and practice other photography genres.  Yet, let me return to the beginning with Street Portraits.

The gallery shows the XPro-2 in action with Fujifilm Color and B&W Acros Film Simulation w/Red Filter images.  The Acros Film Simulation has an optional Green Filter which is more applicable to portraits.  Next time I’ll give the Green a go.

Train-Spotting (Or Rail-Fanning): There s just something about experiencing trains whether it’s being on board, watching from afar and/or hearing the clink-clink, air-horn blowing … that level-sets us all back to our childhood.  I’m a novice in Rail-Fan-Fanning yet I’ve been watching these Indian Railway YouTube videos to catch up.

All the images were up to the task with the trains going at a quick clip requiring an precise auto-focus tracking from the XPro-2.  It’s up to the task.  Have a look.

This is our photowalk 4km+ route. It was a relaxing, peaceful walk in nature.

Nanmangalam Reserved Forest is our Chennai’s Most Serious Photographer’s Google+ Community 2nd Photowalk and what a great time with fellow photographers who share the passion.

The featured image above are of the four gentlemen who provided us security and direction as we walked given the trails are unmarked.  Thanks to the TN Forest Service for their gracious support in allowing us into the reserve for our photowalk.

Even though we were prepared, we found no snakes lurking around.  We did see a lot of birds, butterflies, two now abandoned stone quarries filled with water and plenty of flowering bushes / trees.  The path was clear and an easy walk.

Here is a brief photo gallery from today:

The Fujifilm XPr0-2 has two SD card slots which I’ve set up with the primary slot = RAWs and secondary slot = JPEGs which is set from an array of Fujifilm simulation options.  Today I set the JPEGs secondary slot to “ACROS” film simulation.

Let me start with “Faces of Chennai” in ACROS B&W
